This is designed as an introduction to Food Chains for younger KS2 pupils. Pupils are introduced to the terms 'Producer' and &'Consumer&';. Using 'Food For&' arrows, pupils work interactively through a series of food chains, identifying the correct order. Ecosystems covered are British countryside, tropical rainforest, lake/river and seashore

An interactive resource that introduces children to healthy eating.

This resource is split into two parts. One part deals with pitch and the other with the loudness of sound. Through animations and interactive activities pupils learn: 1. that loud and quiet sounds are produced by big or small vibrations. 2. that high or low pitched notes are produced by fast or slow vibrations. There are printable sheets for follow up investigations.

This resource uses animations and interactive activities to explain to pupils how sound can travel through all materials not just air and that some materials are better than others at conducting sound. The pupil's understanding can be tested with the follow up investigation into what material insulates sound best. There are downloadable worksheets and investigation notes available with this pack.

This interactive activity allows pupils to investigate simple circuits by dragging circuit components into place to make a working circuit. The activities form an introduction to practical work exploring circuits. Pupils have the opportunity to experiment with switches to control components in order to find out that a circuit will not work if there is a break in it.

This unit invites learners to consider their understanding of the human body. Using their own experiences and information provided for them it provides opportunity to think about, draw, write and discuss the position and size of some of the organs in the human body. Pupils should be able to name a selection of light sources, including the sun, and identify some of the uses of light in the environment. The first two parts of the activity asks pupils to sort a collection of items into those which are sources of light and those which are not. The rest of the activity deals with uses of light in the environment, asking pupils to identify the source of light in a picture and to say what the light is used for.

A link is provided to a revision video for food chains. Pupils introduced to multiple food chains and shown how they can be produced more accurately as a web. Pupils encouraged to complete information based on food webs from the countryside and from a pond/river. Pupils finally produce their own food web based on a tropical rainforest ecosystem.
